Sorry for the lack of updates...

...but the weather is much too good to stay inside. Every day for the past week I tried to finish my copy text and translating jobs early so I could travel down to the fräulein herz shop to keep my friend Tatiana company. We sit in front of her little gem of a shop, drink coffee and work.
Berlin in summer is full of surprises - you never know what you will find behind the next corner. Friday night there were swing dancers at the urban beach bar next to the Museum Island in Mitte.

And this is a truely amazing stencil I found when we returned from watching a World Cup game at a Brazilian restaurant

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania For Melissa

Vivienne Westwood once again collaborated with Melissa Shoes from Brazil to create an outrageous pair of shoes. I like them, even so I'm not sure if I'd actually dare to wear them. Did I mention they are made of rubber, just like this Westwood/Melissa creation which has become quite famous?

When I saw the crocheted "Miroslava" earrings by A Cup Of Green Ginger on etsy, it was love at first sight. Doilies for your ears! I knew I had to have a pair. I ordered the light-grey ones and honestly - never before have people complemented me more on my ear-wear. They are quite large, but very light and super-flattering. They instantly lift any outfit from "so so" to "oh lala!". I really wanted another pair and went back for the mustard-yellow ones. And I do have my eye on these... :) They are so pretty, so well made and lovingly packaged...can you tell I'm exited? (And no, they didn't pay me to write all this!)

A Cup Of Green Ginger is the collaboration of Jessica and Natalie from Washington DC, they are sisters-in-law and share a passion for creating and crafting. Jessica, the woman who designed and made the "Miroslava" earings, is a young mommy of three and a musician - she plays the harp, which for me is awe-inspiring in itself (the mommy and the harp part). She likes to unwind while crafting and how lucky for us that she finds the time!
Jessica and Natalie also write a cute and beautiful blog that is well-worth a visit.

Pupa Puposka...

...try to say this very fast and do a lot of repetitions. "Puposka" is the name of a Russian nesting doll by Italian make-up company Pupa.
Yes - it IS kitschy and I declared the end of the matroyshka mania last November, but I'm still intrigued. Look what they managed to hide in that dolly! My late grandma once gave me a tiny Pupa make-up kit - oh such a long time ago - and I remember that the quality of their lipgloss was outstanding, but Pupa make-up is not that easy to find over here. For some reason I would really like to play with the Puposka and discover everything that is hidden inside.

The product range from the Danish company By Nord could turn any city apartment into a (modern) cottage in the woods. Clean, simple, beautiful raw materials, bed spreads with digital animal prints, branches and trees. And it somehow makes you long for evenings by the fire...even so summer finally arrived over here. I was afraid we might grow gills and webs this year, but now people already start to complain that it is too hot. You just can't win...

Cocoon by Moroso

I can so see myself sitting on our balcony in the "Cocoon" hanging chair from Moroso, designed by Patricia Urquiola. It's pricey, but ah...triangles and several beautiful colorways to choose from...did I mention it's a hanging chair? I loved those as a kid. Actually, i still do... And have you noticed the crocheted pillow in the first picture?
